On The Run!

Today we tried out the jogging stroller for the first time. We had to wait on his head and neck strength. He is still a little small but it didn't seem to bother him. Yeah! Hopefully this will lead to some future races together. Let's hope so. "Watch Out Here Comes Griffin and His Mommy!!"

Aren't these little piggy's so cute? He always has them crossed and it's one memory I never want to forget!

Memorial Day Surprise!!

We had a surprise visit from one of my dearest friends Angie. She and Griffin had fun playing on the floor. She also got to feed him which is one of Griffin's favorite times!

Family Reunion

This is my sister and maybe my future sister -in-law Erin. At least we hope so! They are having fun giving Griffin Kisses! Don't still them all save some for mommy!

My cousin Ashley and her son Cameron. Her other son Sydney is only 3days behind Griffin! So many little boys gotta love them.

First Day

Yesterday was my first day back to work it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do! I cried numerous times. By the end of the day I had stressed myself out so badly that I had the most horrible headache! I thought JV was going to have to take me to the ER because I thought it might be more than a headache.
I was nauseous and very weak. When I got home I just held Griffin and cried.

Today was much better I didn't even call home. I figured out that the best thing to do was to not even know what he was doing. I know he is in good hands with my dad but It still tugs at my heart tremendously! So the less I know the better my day will go. I'm sure with time I will only get better. I knew it would be hard but not this hard! What can I say I love being a mommy!!!

Mommy Head's Back to Work

I head back to work this week it is only three days but I am very scared. Please pray that I will do fine tomorrow with out my little one. I will post later in the week to let you guys know how it went:(

My Dearest Griffin,

You have changed so much! You continue to get all these cute little rolls every where! I like to call them my little rubber bands. You still love to eat you are up to 6oz every four hours. You still get upset when I take the bottle out before you are finished. Everyone says you have to choose your battles when you are a parent and this battle you have won. I don't burp you until the whole six ounces are finished. I knew I would have to choose my battles but not this soon:)

You are now holding your head up with out mommy's help.

You love to stand up but of course mommy helps still

You love to talk and just yesterday you yelled out loud and followed it with a laugh. Your papa Chick and I just laughed along with you.

You are liking a bath more and more.

You love to play with your little drum that sings.

You new favorite book is Brown Bear Brown Bear.

Your eyes are still blue but might change to brown. Nana Kat thinks they will.

You have started to droll and chew on your tongue or cheek something in your mouth. Mommy keeps checking for teeth your cousin Foster got them at 4mo. So far no sign.

All in all you are the most amazing thing and I want to cherish every moment! I love you little one! More than words can say!

Busy Weekend

This past weekend was Mother's Day weekend and then also My birthday. We went and visited my grandmother at her house and had a big family get together. Then we got surprised my my friend Crissy and her son Noah the very next day with a birthday lunch for me! The boys were so cute together! I'm so lucky to have friends so close to have these special play dates! Griffin seems to like them too! Thanks to both of you for the yummy CHIC-FILA! MY FAVORITE!

Bath Time

Dear Griffin,

You seem to like your bath time more and more. You really like this robe that aunt Shey got you also. You are almost too big for the bathroom sink so we will have to try the tub next and we will see how much you like that! You are growing so much ! Mommy is so amazed!

Giggles for Papa John

John Van's dad and step mom came to visit Griffin for the first time! He lives so far away so he doesn't get to visit as much as he would like. I'm so glad he waited till now because Griffin has such a great personality. We had such a good visit and look forward to the next one! Love you two and miss you bunches!

Austin Time!!!

Today John Van had a business meeting at the beach so Griffin and I packed the car up and Spent the Day with Amanda and Austin. This was our first official play date with the boys! We had so much fun even though they slept the majority of the time. That gave Amanda and I some time to catch up. Max (her loving poodle) was fun too! Although, Griffin didn't seem to think so. Max's Bark seemed to scare him and the little bottom lip popped out along with a big cry. Austin I'm sure thought "I'm not sure about this new friend of mine It's just Max!"

All in all we had a terrific time. It went by so fast. It's amazing how time fly's when you live by the clock. Today was not only JV'S birthday it was also Amanda and Ty's 3rd Anniversary!

NFL Draft

NFL Draft weekend was just what we needed! Jody and JohnVan watched the draft while my sister Sheron and I spent time with the boys. This was the first time Foster really noticed Griffin. Griffin still was unsure about the whole thing but it will all come in time. He really seemed to enjoy the stroll we took them on. He got so much attention from the neighbors. He also took a nice little nap. It' s so much fun experiencing motherhood with my sister and to think both of the boys will be in the same school year! So many things to look forward to!

Griffin's First Day At Church

Today we took Griffin to church. He did so good. I put him in my sling and he slept the whole time. We attempted Grown up Sunday school. When we got up stairs to the class it was feeding time so I feed him his bottle. Then he decided to go to the bathroom on himself and mommy. Luckily I had a change of clothes for him but none for mommy. So we had to excuse ourselves from the class. That was the first time Griffin ever pooped on me. I'm sure it won't be the last

6 YEARS!

Our anniversary was wonderful! John Van surprised me with a dinner at a local Bed and Breakfast. It was a place we have been wanting to go but haven't had the time. It was by far the best meal I have ever had! We want to have a huge crowd with us next time. It takes about 2-3 hrs due to all the courses. The experience was exactly what we needed. These 6 years have been the greatest!! Thanks John Van for all you do! I am a very lucky woman. I love you!!!

2months already!

Griffin got his 2mo. check up today. Everything checked out okay. Just a little heart broken from the shots. He did good though only cried for a little while. He now weighs 11lbs and 6oz. Yeah! He reached the middle of the growth chart on everything the doc said that he is perfect! That's what we think too!

So Many Changes

Dear Griffin,

You are too cute!!! You have changed so much this week. For starters you are sleeping through the night now. Which makes mommy and daddy very proud of you. We tell you that every morning when we pick you up out of your crib.

You are now laughing out loud and giving us at least 100 smiles a day. Just yesterday I laid you down on your favorite blanket and blew on your naked belly and you just laughed so hard. Daddy was amazed at our first real interaction. We are so blessed to have you!!

You love to lay on the floor and look at the fan on or off. You just move your arms and legs like you are running in a race. You are now noticing your hands and your mobile attached to your swing. When I read to you, you actually seem like your listening. You favorite book is The Biggest Bible Story Book. I think you like it because it's so big.

You love your food! You are beginning to beef up and you hate to stop in between for a burp. I guess you think I'm not going to give it back to you. I can't blame you your mommy and daddy love their food also.

Your favorite toy is your lamb from the Weaver's that plays the song Jesus Loves Me. It sooths you no matter what! You love for your daddy to sing to you. Which brightens daddy whole world.

Congrats!!!!!!

Congrats to Our great friends Rhett and Farrah Hughes. They had a little healthy baby girl. Thursday April the 5th. She weighed 6lbs 150z and was 20.5 inches long. They gave her such a pretty name Rylie. We can't wait to meet her!!!!!!

We love our bible study!

Tonight our bible study came by to see our little one. Our good friends Crissy and Brian have a little boy Noah that is one month older than Griffin. They will be so close growing up. It is so nice to have couples experiencing the same thing as us.

Foster,Griffin and Price

This was our first official play date! I actually traveled to see Griffin's cousin Foster and his other pal Price. We had such a good time! Price's mommy( Ashley) had to travel 30min to come and visit and we got to love on her little one too. Don't you just love his pretty blue eyes!

Griffin seemed to have fun! As yo see in the first picture he decided to wave at everyone.

Griffin and I headed to Misty's mom's to lay in the sun. We had a great time! Griffin chilled out in the shade. While mommy got a small tan. He slept most of the time. He seemed to enjoy George's arms. Thanks for such a fun morning!

5 WEEKS

My lil' man is 5weeks! Man he is growing like crazy! He eats all the time I guess he needs to catch up with all of his other friends! He has to be at least 9lbs now. We have our next check up in 3 weeks.

I love this picture! He loves to give that Elvis half way smile.

He has a couple of nick names. One is of course Griff. The other two are wiggle worm and billy goat. The first one is self explanatory the second one however is due to his grunting. He really sounds like a billy goat! He grunts all the time even in his sleep. I guess he does that instead of crying, which is fine with me and daddy!

Every day is getting easier. Parenthood like I said earlier is fun but man is it tough. I think I make it a lot harder than it could be. I tend to worry and stress myself out! Imagine that!

More Visit's

Amy B. came to see us. We had such a good time. Griffin was actually awake which is hard to catch. He seemed to love her just as much as I do! Can't wait to get Griffin in his jogging stroller and run with him and AmyB! Thanks for the visit! We love you Amy and Griff.

Cousin Time

Tuesday was a great day! Griffin and his cousin Foster had there very first official play date. Of course Griffin and Foster really didn't even recognize each other we still had a great time! Foster has gotten so big. He is 4mo and already into 9mo clothes. We say that Griffin will start all the trouble and Foster will be the muscle to back it up. He is so cute and he looks just like his Papa Chick! Papa Chick says that Foster is his twin. Boy they look pretty close to me!

One Month Old

I can't believe Griffin is one month old today! He is changing so much. He has these cute little mannerisms that are adorable! He does this thing with his lips where it looks like he wants to give you a kiss. "PUCKER UP"

He also crosses his ankles when he eats and puts his hands up at the bottle like hes feeding himself. He is so strong and growing so fast. All the mommies out there were right!!!

More Special Friends

Tonight Hope and Edgar stopped by to bring us a Yummy Meal! She brought Spaghetti bake, apple salad and a sinful peanut butter pie! Griffin seemed to love it as much as we did! It is so amazing how kind and thoughtful everyone can be! We love you guys and thanks so much for your kindness!

Congrats!!!

Congrats to Amanda and Ty they had there baby boy yesterday. The 10th 0f March. 3:40 pm. He weighed 8 lbs 12oz and was 21 inches long. We can't wait to see Austin. Griffin and him will be best of friends!

Ftirst Doctor Check Up

Yesterday was Griffin's 2 week check up. Doc says everything looks good. He gained 1.3oz. Yeah he has been eating good. He usually eats 3 to 4Oz. He's a little piggy. Which is great! He's still so tiny which is fine with mommy. I wish we could freeze time in a bottle. I can't get enough of him! I really look at everything different now. People tell you all this but you don't really know until you experience it at hand.

More Mommy and Daddy Time

We have had a tough week. Mommy has been sick and breast feeding has been a challenge. I had to start pumping and we introduced the bottle for the first time and have been giving Griffin that until I have time to heal. The bottle has been great and Griffin took to it well. Daddy loves it too. He says He feels like he is a more part of Griffin's life and feels he can help out more. Which gives time for mommy to rest!

More People That Love My Lil' Man

We are so grateful for all our friends that will be a part of Griffin's life. We are also very grateful for the food they brought us. We all 3 enjoyed both meals! Yummy!!!
