Dear Griffin and Gray,
Wow what a great year we had! Looking back we had a great year! We spent the New Year once again with our second family. Our Small group the best group of people anyone could ever dream of.
We got to the Beach around lunch time New Years Eve just enough time for Mommy to have some girl time! All the husbands got to take care of 8 kids under the age of 4. Luckly, it was nap time for most of you. Mommy went and saw the movie "It's Complicated". It was just what us Mommies needed! A great cluster of belly laughs!
We then took a trip to Walmart to get the food situated for the next two nights. After we returned home and found that the Husbands had it all under control! We then all let the kiddos eat and then off for bath and bed!
Ahhh....Now for Adult time and a Yumy Meal prepared buy our very own Chef Wes. What was on the dinner menu? His Famous Shrimp and Grits! I have to say they were the second best I have ever had! We all brought the New Year in Together Playing games and of course Watching the Ball drop!
One New Years Day we woke up everyone in PJ's (Your mommys favorite!) We then let the Husbands Go have there Guy time! Again, it was there nap time so we all got a little girl time as well!:) Then the girls decided to take the group to the beach.
Griffin, you were so excited jumping around and saying "Beach, Beach"
We got to the beach and of course you wanted to head straight for the water and that is exactly what you did. Mommy, tried to explain why you couldn't go but you didn't understand and chose to go ahead and test it out.
Then your daddy and the rest of the daddies all decided to come and enjoy this time as well taking picutres and enjoying the kiddos.
We headed back to the condo and Griffin, you had a tantrum the whole way back! When we got back mommy took you to the bathroom to talk to you about your behavior on the beach. You arched back and hit your head on the corner wall where a sharp peice of molding jetted out. As soon as I turned around to pick you off the floor there was the little puddle of blood! Yes Blood! You weren't even crying but with mommy and daddy's reaction you began to cry. So off we went for a trip to the ER.
We got to the ER and you had two staples placed in the back of your head. You cried only a little and they gave you a bannana popsicle for being so good. You did much better than your mommy and daddy. We cried way more than you! I guess that is why we didn't get a popsicle? You were a champ and we were very thankful for that DVD player we got you for Christmas! That kept you occupied why we waited for the the staples to be placed. So, we spent our very first day of the New Year in the Hospital but like my dear sisters in Christ said "It could of been a whole lot worse!" We were in and out with in 2 hours!
When we got back we learned that all the kids got in a circle along with their parents and prayed for you. The oldest Wyatt prayed this "Dear God Please be with the Nurses and Doctors that work on Griffin. Please let them get seen really quickly and bring our friend Griffin home to us safely" It is amazing how God takes a situation and let us see the Good in it! Amen to that. I hope that both you boys see how much you are loved not only by your mommy and daddy but by others as well!
Griffin and Gray we are so lucky to have such good friends! We started off the New Year just as we needed to.... In awe of how God works, In awe of how he brings us daily love, In awe of how he teaches us daily, In awe of how he carries us in his hands, In awe of how he calls us by our name, In awe of how lucky we are to be called his children, Children of God Blessed and Blessed again!
