OPPS! Papa Chick!
This is actually a real funny story... My dad who most of you know takes care of the little guy one day a week. So last week I got home from work and my Dad decided to share a story with me. He stated that the wipes in the wipes warmer were dry ( When you are running low on wipes the last hand full get dried out do to the warmer.) So he decided to take the hand sanitizer to make them wet again. He was so concerned with getting him so clean he didn't think of how harsh it would be on a babies bottom.
Luckily... I went to check his bottom and Hooray no outbreak! The funniest part of the whole story was my dad was actually proud that he thought of such a thing. I just laughed and laughed. I then told him next time just to damp them with some water. I also proceeded to show him the new pack of wipes on top of the changing table. Too funny huh?

The Biggest Scare!
Last Sunday night was our biggest scare! Griffin was sleeping in his crib and around midnight we heard him cough but it wasn't his normal cough. Immediately JohnVan jumped up ran to his crib pulled him out turned him upside down and patted his back. The Poor guy was strangling on his Flem caught in his throat. We were both so scared he started to breath really heavy and I sat and held him close rocking him. I had him upright with his head laying next to mine cheek to cheek. I leaned him forward to look to see if he had drifted off to sleep and to my surprise his eyes were wide open filled with fear. He was afraid to cough again afraid he would stop breathing and get strangled again.
We didn't know what to do and we needed someone else's opinion. So we called my dear in-laws to come. As soon as they got there Griffin had gotten a lot better but we still were very scared. Our little one had never been sick! Pops came in and took charge he took Griffin into the bath room closed the door and ran a hot shower. It worked Griffin's cough wasn't near as cakily (If that is even a word) Thank God for family. I will say that again THANK GOD FOR FAMILY!
Needless to say he drifted off to sleep and slept soundly through the night. His parents on the other hand didn't sleep a wink!
As the week went on his cough just got worse and I noticed him pulling on his left ear. So Thursday morning his Doctor worked him in and we found out that he has and ear infection from so much drainage witch we are still clueless as to wear that even came from.
So little guy is on his first Antibiotic this is his fourth day and I really don't see too much of a difference. Is this normal?
I have to brag about the little guy even through all of this he never really cries and he just plays patty cake and smiles! He is so amazing! And by the way he still has no teeth! Can you believe it? Well, they say it's a good thing the longer they wait to come in the stronger they are! Hooray for that! I hope it is true!

Foster's One Already?
Can you believe my adorable nephew is one? His mommy did so well in planing such an important day. So many kids and so much love!

Happy Birthday Kat!
Last night we took Griffin to our friends Kat and Brad's house she had a birthday she turned 30! She also just had this little one below(Jacob). What a trooper I hardly left the house the entire 12weeks with Griffin! She said that the second go around is different.

Daddy had the camera and took it out at the end so we got only a couple of pictures. There were nothing but little boys. Eight to be exact! Ages ranging from 8yrs-4weeks. We had a great time and Griffin did so good.We were there for 4 hours and he sat in my lap the whole time and entertained himself with his shoe! You are the best! We love you!

Happy 8mo!
My Dearest Griffin,
You are 8mo old today! You are growing so fast! Your Aunt Kristi just pointed out that in just 4mo you will be 1year old. I never looked at it that way. I guess I get caught up in every little move you make that time just stands still.
You are truly the best gift anyone could ask for. I never thought that I could love anyone more or even the same as your father but then you came along and you made us love not only you but one another that much more.
Your dad and I say all the time we can't believe that you are a part of both of us. That we actually made you. That with the help of our gracious heavenly father you molded every fingernail, every crease every hair on your head inside my belly! We still get teary eyed thinking about it.
You amaze us every day! You have accomplished so much this month!
*last Wed night you pulled yourself up at Dee and Pops house. I missed this which made me so sad but Dee brought you home and you pulled yourself up! It was as if you were saying "It's okay mom I will stand up for you too"
*Instead of crawling you roll. Sounds funny huh? You roll from side to side to grab what ever you want. It is so cute! You squeal the whole time you are rolling which makes me and your dad laugh so hard.
*You have just learned how to jump in your jumper! We didn't think you would ever learn. We use to stick you in there and you would just play with the toys on the front now you jump yourself to sleep. Sometimes you will jump in your sleep! I have yet to catch it on video but I will have to it is the funnest yet!
*You say DaDa all the time which by the way lights up your daddy's face every time and I do mean every time! Which makes mommy just as happy to see your father so happy.
*You like the water but tend to be a little of a dare devil. You like to put your face in it and try to breath. Which has really scared us several times. We can't figure out why you do this. You love to lay on your back in the water. I try to sit you up and you push till your on your back. Yet another battle you win! I have a felling I will be typing that a lot.
* You love love banana's baby food and fresh. We have these mesh holders just for fresh fruit and veggies. I freeze them for you so they will feel good on those gums. You love love love Banana's Not so much green beans and peas. But you do eat them
* You have started to whine when I pull something out of your hands. Isn't this a little early?
Don't tell your dad but I think you get it honestly from him:)
*You are very very independent you want to feed yourself with the spoon. You grab it out of my hands and put it directly into your mouth. You have been doing this for about a month now. I don't know if you just like to do this because you want to be in control or because when it comes to your food mommy isn't fast enough? Maybe a little of both!
* You now do the Indian call where I will put my hand up to your mouth and pat it and you will go ahhhhhh... Papa chick taught you that!

My First Girls Trip As A Mommy
This is the one weekend that I look forward to every year! However, this was probably the hardest one to feel that way. I had a precious baby boy that I had to leave. My Goal was to not cry at all and I only cried once. Which I thought was a great accomplishment. All these girls were troopers and made me have a great time and made me laugh so hard that my sad tears turned into laughter! Thanks Girls for such a memorable and wonderful weekend

Okay this next picture has some explaining. I will start off by saying it was one of the highlights of my night. The girl below is Ashley and she is one of the girls out of the group that will make you laugh so hard tears fall down your face and you had better of taken a potty break before you are around her. The latest Brittany Spears song came on and she(totally sober) took it upon her self to give us all a laugh and to imitate Brittany's latest look! I think she scored a 10 don't you think? Thanks Ashley your the best!
Ending the night at the Roof top bar. Which is my new favorite!
All in all we all had a terrific time. I got back home and my happy little boy awaited me with his big smiling face and his cuddling loving arms along with my very tired, adorable husband! It made the ending of a perfect girls trip! I look forward to the next one! Love you all!

And Matthew It Was
I have been extremely busy and I have not blogged about Last Monday!
Ashley, Price, Griffin and myself all loaded up to visit our good friend Catherine who just had a baby boy Matthew! He is so little! I honestly can't even remember Griffin that size!
Anyway as we all sat around at amazement of the 3 little creatures that had each of our makeups. Catherine shared one of the sweetest stories! She has always loved the name Jackson and had the name picked out for the little butter ball in her belly! Little did she know there was an even greater name awaiting!
One day, she and her mom along with her wonderful husband Bradley were eating lunch together. Her mom was sharing the story of her two twins (Cathrine being one of them). She was sharing the story that Catherine knew all to well and Bradley probably heard before but this particular day stood out for a very special reason.
The doctors told Catherine's mom that she was having two boys. The names were picked out and all that was left were there arrivals! Then the perfect day was here! She had twins! But little did she know she had a boy (Hank) and then a sweet little girl Catherine! So, what was the other name she had picked out? Matthew.That was the part of the story that touched her husbands heart. He turned to his glowing pregnant wife and said" That's it"!" That's it!"
"That's the name for our son! " And Matthew it was!
How sweet to have a name that means so much! We had such a great time Catherine! Thanks for sharing your sweet story! Love you!
