Back at It!

Me and my best friend Amy are back into running. We ran the local 10k bridge run last spring but haven't ran in a race since. We are looking to run a half marathon together in November.

This is just a small 5k near by but It was super hard. As you can see the picture below was how high the grass was. Really tough race! There will be plenty more to come! Can't wait! Next time we will have a larger group of girls! Happy Running Ladies!

This was the view from sitting in the stands after the race enjoying an ice cold beer together! How refreshing!

The Locks

Jv and I have always wanted to take this trip. We finally got the opportunity with some friends of ours. Two weekends ago we took off and headed to the lake!

Going down didn't take long. It was going back up that did.

It was a really neat experience. We started of at 76 feet and stopped at 4feet. How neat!

We had a blast! Thanks Jay and Kim for a great time!

Conversations

I have always seen other mommies post and talk about there kids conversations. I wasn't sure if and when the time would come that I would be able to share. Well the time has come (wiping tears)

G:I want to go somewhere.
Me:Where do you want to go?
G: McDonald's
Me: What do you want to do there?
G: Go down the slide
Me: What else?
G: Get some apple juice and french fries

Instead of going to McDonald's we went to Chicfila. He didn't seem to mind. We found out that the fries there are gluten free as well!
One of the most amazing parts of the night is that he actually dipped his fries for the very first time! I know you are reading this and saying big deal. But It is such a big deal! He has never seemed to pay that much attention and now he is paying attention and wanting to copy everything around him. He saw me doing it and wanted to do it as well. He is turning into your average toddler (wipe another tear)

His eye contact is unbelievable! I HAVE ALWAYS loved those big brown eyes but now they are even bigger and cuter than ever. He melts my heart with just one glance. A glance that sticks. Each time he gives me that minute stare I sing and jump for joy!

One more story. I have to say that when you do have a child with delays you usually don't take Anything for granted. Hence the dipping fries in ketchup story.
You can also ask my small bible study group of girls I was actually excited about my oldest pushing my youngest down because that is what your average toddler does. I know, I don't praise him, and do punish him but in the same crazy way I have a since of happiness in my heart to see him growing up and doing your average things.

Okay so back to the real story.... I had to go to a small bookstore about 45 mins out of town. I had no stroller just a toddler holding one hand and a heavy baby in the other. We get in the store and Griffin lets go of my hand running up and down each isle screaming the song B-I-N-G-O was his name oh. Clapping his hands. I go to let Gray down, who has no shoes because he won't keep them on, and he starts chasing after his brother yelling "Riffin" "Riffin". It took me around 50mins to get everything finished. During that time they were trying to tear down something, singing or should I say screaming a song or having a tantrum because I was taking something away. It was crazy! I feel like sometimes I have twins. Gray is so advanced and with Griffin being about a year delayed. There are times It feels like I have two (2) year old. It was a crazy experience but I got some Christmas presents out the way:)

I have to say though, you all would be proud of me. I stepped back and just let the two of them be boys. I didn't have one care of what the others were thinking. I let them run wild like two Monkey's in the Jungle. I have to say I love that Jesus is molding me into the mommy I have become:) I would of cared about every person in that store before now and maybe of thought who they would of told later. But I have to say with 100% certainty I didn't care! I love it! All that mattered to me was the smiles on my little guys faces!

Gray Boy is 16months!

Dear Gray,

Today you are 16 months old. You are steadily into everything. If it is not a toy you want to play with it. No is your favorite word but you I don't think you know what it means:)

You say ogart for yogart.
Tuffs for your puffs
You love to pester your brother and follow him around.

You have started this shy stage around others you don't see and tend to cry if another girl mommies age is around. I think you think that I am leaving you and she is the baby sitter. But once you realize mommy is staying you warm up to them.

You love to play with hats and glasses but you call them both hats:)

You favorite toys are the big red car and any type of ball.

YOu want to be just like your big brother and try to read just like him. You will sit with a book beside him and babble away your own little story.

You are our little clown and we love every minute of it!
Love Mommy and Daddy

God's Hands How Secure They Are!

Some days I am just in awe of God's sovereignty. I know what you must be thinking... Shouldn't you be in awe everyday? The truth is that I should. But I guess some days are just more noticeable or maybe it's because I am in a hungry stage in my life where I yearn for his word, teachings and most importantly my time with him!

I have started a new study with just women on Thursday nights. It is on the book of Ruth. It is amazing! I love that we are studying a book in the bible rather than a topic that we all may want to learn more on. I tend to go toward a book that draws me closer to the title because it's something "I NEED". Yes, I'll say it. Sometimes I can be all about me:) So, not only is this a great study but it's all under the work of our heavenly father. Totally and utterly sent by him.

In the study, it asks you to write one goal that you would like to achieve this during this summer story. Mine was to Listen...to really stop and Seek our father.
There is so many moments in life where I don't stop and listen. I make rash decisions in my flesh with out seeking the spirit.

For right now I can truly say that this goal has been my focus. I just only hope that I can continue to have this goal after the study.

Getting back to his all mighty power. I have to share a couple of his blessings.

John Van and I have been praying for specifics for Griffin's further treatment(for his wisdom to where he wants us to go next) along with the finances to be able to cover it. So...just a couple of weeks ago a dear friend that I haven't seen in a while sent me a sweet little note titled "For those times that are Tough" It had a donation in it for Griffin. She read about the yard sale and wanted to contribute. But most of all this specific friend has had a very hard situation to have to go through and shared her sweet words and literally wrote her heart out in the letter. Her sweet words were so good to hear, words that will stay close to my heart.

Then this past week I had lunch with a friend and was sharing my concerns for further treatment for Griffin. How I just want what is best for him and how I have been praying for guidance. She sent me an email with her step mom's email. Long story short. I contacted her on the phone and she took a whole hour with me going over each supplement(which is a mile long), over her thoughts on our upcoming treatment and on the Gluten Free Casein Free diet. She thought that everything I was doing was safe. That if Foster had, had this amazing success that she hopes that we will too. The most amazing part was I talked to her not knowing her job title. Just going with it with peace that God heard my cry. I found out after the call that she is a Pediatrician that has specialized in Autism/Disabilities and Disorders. I was amazed that she spent so much time with me on the phone with me. Not only did she not really know me but I wasn't her patient. She wasn't making a dime off of me! I loved that. God's hands were all over this conversation. And I am ever so thankful they were!

Just yesterday. My husband ran into one of his dear buddies girlfriends. I met her the night Donnalene and I were pricing things for the yard sale. She stated that she might have some furniture to donate. That she would contact us that next day.
That day was so busy I never thought twice about her furniture. Well, when JV saw her last night she walked up to him and donated a gracious amount for Griffin's account. As you can see we just met this girl. I literally have seen her one time. What? Are you serious? And that is when I hear our Father's voice saying "Yes my Daughter I am serious you are my child of God and I promise to take care of you."

I can't stress enough the power of Prayer. His amazing grace.....because of my daily sin. His perfect timing. Nothing can break his SECURE HANDS....NOTHING.
