John Herrick's Visit

John Van's cousin John Herrick came into to town from Arkansas! We tried out indigo Joes for the first time it was pretty good.

We then headed back to the house had to have some Griffin time.!

First Cereal Feeding

I also love all the cereal on his face!

Yumm! He ate pretty good for the first time. Of course I think he would eat anything you put in his mouth! He takes after his parents when it comes to eating. Maybe he will stay that way!

Not only was it the first time that he ate cereal it was also his first time in his high chair.

Sunday Fun!

Today was a very busy day full of exciting times! I woke up and headed for the beach to see one of Griffin's favorite buddy's Austin. Today Austin got baptized and boy was he a good baby. It one of those sweet times. Of course now being a mommy you cry at every event. He was such a cutie and again sorry I don't have any pics.

Later on today we went to two birthday parties. Both precious girls Lizzie and Weatherly. Lizzie turned 3 and Weatherly turned 1. Fun Fun Fun! Both girls are getting so big. Griffin had lots of fun and sends a sweet thank you for the invites.

Congrats to Gail

Our good friend Gail got married today ! She was so pretty and very very excited and happy. It was Griffin's first reception. He did great! He was a very sleepy baby. DeAnn and Kelli got some great sugars and Kelli got to hold him while he slept in her arms. He was a little angel.
I am so glad he likes to be in the crowd. He did good we only stayed one hour and had to get back to get ready for bath and bed!

Sleep Overat Dee and Pops

It was a sleep over but John Van and myself stayed as well. We had a huge fraternity function and it was the first time we stayed out passed 10pm since Griffin joined our lives! Which is fine with me I am not a night owl. Instead of taking him home with us we let him sleep in the pack-n-play and we stayed in the next room with the monitor close by. He didn't sleep very well. He woke up in the middle of the night and I think he got scared and didn't know where he was. We will try again soon. I can't leave him quite yet. My favorite part of the day is in the morning when I get to go in the nursery peek my head over the crib railing and see that great big smile before I start my day. Can you blame me?
Baby steps for mommy! Sorry there are no pics it was a busy night. We got to see a lot of friends we haven't seen in a while.

Dear Griffin,

You turned 4 months on Daddy Day! I am so amazed at how much you have changed!
You now talk none stop like you are telling us a story! You have different tones throughout the whole story. When you do start to really talk your stories will be so animated!
You roll over now but only on your terms and it's only happened twice with me and once with your Dee when she was giving you a bath.
You love to sleep on your tummy!
You squeal now when you get excited
Usually it takes very little to amuse you. Sometimes I will lay you on the floor and walk off to get something and that's when you talk the most!
You still love to lay on your back the most but are venturing out to the super saucer and the jumpy swing.
You really love to hear your mommy read! Which I hope tells us you will love to read.
You love your hands you hold them together across your chest like you are praying. That is one of mommy's favorites.
And last but not least you always smile when you see my face which is the ultimate and makes my world!

4 mo. check up

Open wide! Still no teeth but it is a little early! We had a great check up at the Doc's. Griffin now weighs 14lbs 1.5 oz. He is now 24.5 inches long. Keep this up big boy we are so proud of you!

You really like your Doctor Weave you talked to him the whole time! Seeing that he doesn't give you the shots I would like him too!

Family Fun

We packed up the house and left for a trip to see Sheron, Foster and Jody! They had a Birthday Bash for the Local Christian Radio. We had so much fun and we are going to make it an annual trip.

Cool Rider

Griffin got him so new shades! They are still a little big. They are infant size but I guess he has a smaller head than most babies? They match his red jogging stroller!

2 miles

We are finally up to two miles! It is so much different with the jogging stroller but Griffin seems to like it. Let's hope it continues. He usually takes his morning nap in it!

On The Run!

Today we tried out the jogging stroller for the first time. We had to wait on his head and neck strength. He is still a little small but it didn't seem to bother him. Yeah! Hopefully this will lead to some future races together. Let's hope so. "Watch Out Here Comes Griffin and His Mommy!!"

Aren't these little piggy's so cute? He always has them crossed and it's one memory I never want to forget!

Memorial Day Surprise!!

We had a surprise visit from one of my dearest friends Angie. She and Griffin had fun playing on the floor. She also got to feed him which is one of Griffin's favorite times!

Family Reunion

This is my sister and maybe my future sister -in-law Erin. At least we hope so! They are having fun giving Griffin Kisses! Don't still them all save some for mommy!

My cousin Ashley and her son Cameron. Her other son Sydney is only 3days behind Griffin! So many little boys gotta love them.

First Day

Yesterday was my first day back to work it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do! I cried numerous times. By the end of the day I had stressed myself out so badly that I had the most horrible headache! I thought JV was going to have to take me to the ER because I thought it might be more than a headache.
I was nauseous and very weak. When I got home I just held Griffin and cried.

Today was much better I didn't even call home. I figured out that the best thing to do was to not even know what he was doing. I know he is in good hands with my dad but It still tugs at my heart tremendously! So the less I know the better my day will go. I'm sure with time I will only get better. I knew it would be hard but not this hard! What can I say I love being a mommy!!!

Mommy Head's Back to Work

I head back to work this week it is only three days but I am very scared. Please pray that I will do fine tomorrow with out my little one. I will post later in the week to let you guys know how it went:(

My Dearest Griffin,

You have changed so much! You continue to get all these cute little rolls every where! I like to call them my little rubber bands. You still love to eat you are up to 6oz every four hours. You still get upset when I take the bottle out before you are finished. Everyone says you have to choose your battles when you are a parent and this battle you have won. I don't burp you until the whole six ounces are finished. I knew I would have to choose my battles but not this soon:)

You are now holding your head up with out mommy's help.

You love to stand up but of course mommy helps still

You love to talk and just yesterday you yelled out loud and followed it with a laugh. Your papa Chick and I just laughed along with you.

You are liking a bath more and more.

You love to play with your little drum that sings.

You new favorite book is Brown Bear Brown Bear.

Your eyes are still blue but might change to brown. Nana Kat thinks they will.

You have started to droll and chew on your tongue or cheek something in your mouth. Mommy keeps checking for teeth your cousin Foster got them at 4mo. So far no sign.

All in all you are the most amazing thing and I want to cherish every moment! I love you little one! More than words can say!

Busy Weekend

This past weekend was Mother's Day weekend and then also My birthday. We went and visited my grandmother at her house and had a big family get together. Then we got surprised my my friend Crissy and her son Noah the very next day with a birthday lunch for me! The boys were so cute together! I'm so lucky to have friends so close to have these special play dates! Griffin seems to like them too! Thanks to both of you for the yummy CHIC-FILA! MY FAVORITE!

Bath Time

Dear Griffin,

You seem to like your bath time more and more. You really like this robe that aunt Shey got you also. You are almost too big for the bathroom sink so we will have to try the tub next and we will see how much you like that! You are growing so much ! Mommy is so amazed!

Giggles for Papa John

John Van's dad and step mom came to visit Griffin for the first time! He lives so far away so he doesn't get to visit as much as he would like. I'm so glad he waited till now because Griffin has such a great personality. We had such a good visit and look forward to the next one! Love you two and miss you bunches!

Austin Time!!!

Today John Van had a business meeting at the beach so Griffin and I packed the car up and Spent the Day with Amanda and Austin. This was our first official play date with the boys! We had so much fun even though they slept the majority of the time. That gave Amanda and I some time to catch up. Max (her loving poodle) was fun too! Although, Griffin didn't seem to think so. Max's Bark seemed to scare him and the little bottom lip popped out along with a big cry. Austin I'm sure thought "I'm not sure about this new friend of mine It's just Max!"

All in all we had a terrific time. It went by so fast. It's amazing how time fly's when you live by the clock. Today was not only JV'S birthday it was also Amanda and Ty's 3rd Anniversary!
