Even The Ugly Pumpkin Needs to Be Loved

It is amazing to see God revealed in your children! Two weeks ago, we all packed up and went to the pumpkin patch to let Griffin pick out his very own pumpkin. We do it every year but it's usually a mommy event. This year we took Daddy and Dee Dee. We had the best time!

Griffin got out of the tractor/hay ride to the pumpkin patch and we told him "Pick out your Pumpkin". He went straight toward the pumpkins and what did he pick? The Pumkin below. Yes, Out of all the the very beautiful, round, smooth shiney pumpkins Griffin chose this one. I saw it out the corner of my eye and thought what an ugly pumpkin. It looked like it had worts all over it! And to top it off it leaned to the side. That was the Pumpkin that Griffin went straight for.

I have to admit that I even tried to get him to pick out another one. Why? I guess because society has placed this horrible idea in my head that pumpkins are suppose to be round and perfectly shaped. Says Who? Right?
.
Griffin chose the pumpkin that he saw as perfect. One that was not like the rest! I loved it and it warmed my heart so much that I wish I would of found one just like it for me! Afterall, Ugly Pumpkins need to be loved too!

That's the best looking pumpkin I think I've ever seen! Don't you just love the way kids make you see things in a different and positive light?!
