First Family Vacation +10

Look at the trunk of our car! I never knew it could hold that much. We packed up and headed for the beach for our first family vacation with our bible study. We brought so much but used every bit of it! I think Jv and I did an excellent job packing for the first time.

Blowing Raspberries

Today Griffin has started to blow Raspberries! It is the cutest thing. He puts those adorable lips together and blows so hard he spits on himself and anyone near him. I love it!

Bargain Shopper!

I went to a huge baby sale in Hartsville Thursday night. Boy did I rack up for Griffin! I got the best toys and outfits for the fall! I had the best time! I picked up this musical toy it's a piano with a dancing monkey on top. Griffin Love's it! He love music so I knew he would have fun with this. Daddy had fun too!

Date with Dee

John Van headed out of town early Saturday morning for his annual boy weekend with his best friend Scott. They always tailgate on the water and then end the evening with Fun Football games! This year was the best one yet seeing that we beat the Dogs! Go Cocks!

So, I always know way in advance to make plans because as most of you know I don't do the staying at home by myself thing. So, I made a date night with Dee! We had a girls night plus Griffin. We packed up and headed out for the afternoon out to run some errands!


I love this out fit It is one of my favorites! We ended the day at Chilli's for a late lunch!

Happy Happy Baby! He loves to be on the Go! Well, Lets just say he loves going around town. Long trips we have yet to master!

First Over Night!

Griffin stayed the night away from Mommy and Daddy for the First time Friday night. He stayed with his Dee. This is a picture Friday morning of Daddy getting some snuggle time with his little boy! Yes, I actually broke down and did it!

The night went well. We both felt this emptiness. I would pick up one of his toys and hold it just wondering what he was doing. Of course I called twice. Which I thought was pretty good. John Van said that this is probably a feeling we will have often especially when he goes off to college. We had a nice romantic date night at home!

Engagement Rivalry

This is actually a great story. Our close friends in our bible study just announced last night that they are engaged. Brice is a HUGE Clemson fan. Probably the biggest I know. Seriously, when he goes on misson trip he brings orange Clemson t-shirts to give to all the kids.
Well, he and his now fiance Kim, is a huge Gamecock fan. This past weekend she gave in to go to the Clemson game and actually wear orange for the first time.

At the end of the game Brice said if we win you have to go up to the Rock and touch it. I guess this is a Clemson tradition that everyone does. So He had it all planned out. They would walk up the hill Kim would touch the rock and then when she turned around he would be on one knee.
Well, close enough. I will give you Kim's side of the story. Clemson did win against Florida State. So they walked up the hill to touch the rock.(more like elbowed there way up to the rock. People were every where. So she touched the rock and turned around and Brice was there not kneeling because all he could picture was people trampling over him and injuring his hopefully soon to be fiance'. So instead he stood there and asked her to be his wife.

Her answer was "ARE YOU SERIOUS?" Brice assured her he was and took out the ring and placed it on her finger and she said Yes. She really couldn't believe that she was getting proposed to at a Clemson game at the rock for that matter. What will all her gamecock friends think?

Isn't it funny how much of a rivalry we really are? I love this story . Brice assured us the only reason he did it at the game was because she would least expect it! Just thought I would share this lovely couples great news!

Labor Day Teeth?

After the surprise party for Andy I got back to bathe Griffin and put him to sleep for the night. He had been a little fussy the last two days. So I checked his gums tonight and I could see the tops of some little teeth! Yea! I am so excited. I think this will be a slow process which is fine!
You can't see it all to well in the picture but I had to post it! He is so good at letting me get in his mouth. I guess it's because I always pester him wiping his gums all the time! We want extra healthy teeth and gums!

Andy is the Big 3-0!

We went to a surprise birthday party for one of our closest friends. We had such a great time. Rita and her family did such a great job! Hugs from his Aunt

Dee and Pops are Back!!

Dee and Pops were gone for a little over 2 weeks. It was the longest 2 weeks ever! "Boy did I miss you guys!"

They always bring back surprises for Griffin. He loved his green ducky and the puppy behind him that sings and teaches him body parts! And of course lots of clothes! The best part was to see all the kisses they gave him for lost time! He never lacks in that department.

My First Official Game Day!

"Today is my first official game day. Boy was my daddy really really happy! We had a day full of fun events. We started off with our usual run around the neighborhood to say hello to everyone and for my sweet little cat nap in my cool red jogging stroller. I got lots of attention from the two Hicks girls down the street Victoria and Alexandra. They strolled me up and down the driveway.The oldest Victoria told my mommy that she would be 13 in 6yrs and she would love to baby sit me. That was very exciting! Then I got to play in my favorite super saucer. Mommy loves this serious look I have on my face. She always tells me that I study everything and says I am going to grow up to be a Doctor or Lawyer." "I got to try out this cool sippy cup for the first time Iam not sure about it. It is not like my bottle"

Most of you all know that I give Jv a grade due to his behavior after the game. He got an A! He only threw his visor once and did not even say one bad word! This was his best game ever. Let's hope it continues. I think Griffin might be the reason for it. He know his sweet little boy already looks up to him!

Baby Canfeild

We had a nice surprise! Catherine Canfeild joined the world Wed August 22nd weighing 7lbs 8oz and 20inches long. Isn't she beautiful? She looks like a Catherine!

Say a little prayer

We have had two very busy weekends! We are trying to sell our home and have had open houses Sat and Sun. Wow, it is so hard to try and take care of Griffin and keep a spotless house! No offers yet but have had several prospects! So everyone say a little prayer!
The next three weekends will be packed with fun events so I am ready to post some fun pics.

6 mo check up

Griffin had his 6mo. check up today.
Everything went terrific! He is now 16.3 lbs and is 26 inches long!
He received a book from Dr. Whitehead and it went straight to the mouth.
He is definitely teething. Poor guy. He just now liking his pacifier. I think he likes the way it feels on his gums where the teeth are trying to come in.
Over all we are so proud of our growing little one.
We love you so much!

No More Peas Please!

Well today was the firs time Griffin got to taste baby food. I don't think he liked the green peas.
Just a guess by all the silly faces I received while feeding him. Take a look I hope you will enjoy them as much as I did.

I think we will try some sweet potatoes next. We will see if he likes any veggies. I hope he will be a good eater!

Parent Time

Saturday Night we had the best time! We invited Jennie and Brian over for a dinner date. They got to meet Griffin and We had the best Salmon prepared from my very own personal sexy chef John Van! We all got to have great adult conversations and learned that we have a fatastic loving new couple to hang out in our home town! Jennie is due in just two weeks! We can't wait to meet Evelyn and I know her little sister Carlisle is ready too! Thanks you two we had a wonderful time and can't wait till our next date!

Happy 6 months

I can't believe you are 6 months old today! Here are your new changes

You love to gibber all the time. You are very vocal but it's a sweet sweet vocal. You stop everyone with this gibber. It is the sweetest thing. People are so amazed at how you love to talk and flirt!

You love to reach for everything. Especially if it's in mommy's hands. My drink, the phone etc.

You can feed yourself but mommy still loves to hold you and cuddle when you eat.

Your bottom two teeth are breaking the skin. Which makes me very excited! Now I can clean them!

You love your bath time and are trying to crawl but only in the bath not on land. Maybe you will be an excellent swimmer!

All these changes are so sweet. Each of them we will treasure! I love you so much!

Congrats Robi!

Griffin and I went to visit a very special friend at the Hospital! She just had a little girl Alivia Todd. We are so excited for your new little one! We will be praying for her strength and that she will be able to come home next week! Griffin had a great time and you look terrific! You would never of known this was your 4th! Please give her kisses from us! We will come and visit real soon!

Griffin's Special Day

Today was Griffin's Baptism. We were so excited and it was the most amazing experience!
We received a book prior to his Baptism that focused on the meaning of infant Baptism. It was such an eye opener. We learned that infant baptism was a promise to our church that we would try to give our little boy the best Christian home possible. Which is going to be our number one goal. The service was so sweet! Griffin did great didn't cry at all! His parents did enough of that for him! My favorite part that always gets me is when they walk him up the isle singing Jesus Loves me! Tear jerker!
